The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for managing and verifying healthcare provider credentials to ensure compliance with federal, state, client, and company requirements. This role supports the onboarding and ongoing compliance of healthcare professionals placed in client facilities, including hospitals, clinics, and government healthcare systems.

Qualification and Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Associate degree or equivalent with Healthcare Admin experience
  • One year or more of administrative experience preferably in healthcare

Key Responsibilities

Credential Verification

  • Review and verify healthcare provider credentials including licenses, certifications, education, work history, and references.
  • Ensure compliance with client, state, federal, and company credentialing requirements.
  • Conduct primary source verification for licenses and certifications.

Onboarding & Compliance

  • Coordinate onboarding requirements such as background checks, drug screens, immunizations, and health records.
  • Track credential expiration dates and ensure timely renewals.
  • Maintain compliance with healthcare regulatory standards.

Documentation Management

  • Maintain accurate provider files in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) or credentialing platform.
  • Upload, track, and audit documentation to ensure all records are complete and up to date.
  • Prepare credentialing packets for client submission.

Client & Internal Communication

  • Work closely with recruiters and program managers to ensure candidates meet contract requirements.
  • Communicate credentialing requirements and updates to candidates.
  • Address credentialing issues and escalate when necessary.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all credentialing processes meet regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Assist with internal audits and client compliance audits.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and provider information.
